Around the Farm

Today, we began the process of goat-proofing our fence.

Belle and Teck seem to enjoy the green grass in the pasture.





Bennett is doing a great job with taking care of the goats and they are getting more and more comfortable with him.










And, so, the fence building continues...

We had so much fun at this year's Buddy Walk.









We had the honor to volunteer for Reece's Rainbow.





I pray that seeds were planted that will one day bloom into children being united with their forever families.

Be. Still. My. Heart.

We were blessed last week to receive some photos of our precious little one.

This was a real treat because prior to last week, we only had one picture of Emma Claire.

This precious photo was my favorite.

I can just look into those beautifully large dark, almond-shaped eyes and see a precious little three year old girl patiently waiting for a mommy and daddy.

Our homestudy is complete and being reviewed by our agency.

Next we will wait for our fingerprints appointment.

In the mean time, I am thrilled to let you all know that we are honored to be included in a super awesome ministry, Village to Village International.

One of their missions is to reach a goal of 1000 individuals giving just $10 a month on a monthly basis to support families who are adopting and also support orphan ministries worldwide.

Test Day

Something that goes along with having Spina Bifida is the need to keep a close watch on your bladder and kidneys.

Sam David had a Video Urodynamics 6 months ago and the results were not good at all.


But, thanks to a new medicine regimen and a strict cathing schedule, we saw some improvement when we went for a follow-up Video Urodynamics today.

Here's my sweet, silly, wiggle-worm monkey!





SD did a knock-out job having the test done and also rocked the ultrasound that was to follow.

While his reflux did not completely go away, it did improve somewhat.

Six months ago his reflux rated at a grade 5.

That is terrible!

Today, it rated at a grade 3.

Small improvement.

But, we will take it!

He will be starting a new medicine and follow-up in 6 months to see if an augmentation will be needed.

But, for now, we will just continue as usual.

We will cross that bridge later, if needed.

Until then, SD will just be busy driving us all crazy with his super cool and wild personality.

Swingin' Time

This swing has some memories, that for sure.





This is the same swing that has hung on my grandmother's front porch for too many years to even count.

Many people have sat here and enjoyed the peaceful calm that being in the country holds.

I don't really remember my grandfather much, but I do remember a picture of us on this swing.

This very swing that, just this afternoon, I shared with a special little 4 year old boy.





It is one of our favorite places.

No worries.

No cares.

Just nature.

Quiet.

Calm.

Keep swingin', my sweet boy!

Wiggle, Wiggle

Last night as Maylee and I sat on the sofa....

Maylee: Mom, something feels funny with my foot.

Me: Well, Maylee, the little nerves in your foot are probably still trying to wake up from your surgery. Tell me how it feels.

Maylee: Let me just show you.


At this point a huge smile shines across Maylee's face as her big toe on her right foot begins to WIGGLE!

This is big guys!

She has never been able to manipulate the wiggling of an isolated toe.

And, this was her right foot. The most effected foot due to the tethering of her spinal cord.


So proud of my girl and her Wiggling Toe!
